Red Jujube
Only a glance away from the bustle of the King St Wharf, Red Jujube is a quiet little Northern Chinese jewel with carved tables and an open lantern lit space (the furniture and other objects around the room are also for sale).
We made more than a few tough decisions, and then dug in with vigour to the excellent fare.
Thick and lively hot and sour soup, juicy pot-sitckers and shallot pancakes (that alone are worth coming back for) got us started. Then we sunk our chopsticks and teeth into succulent prawns with dried chilli and green capsicum and snake beans stirfried with minced pork.
We only wished we had more room.
Red Jujube is at 41 Shelley St, Sydney (02) 9279-0338
do they pronounce the name as "hoo hoo bee" like how u say 'jojoba'? ^_^
